Sadhb

Sadhb is a character from Irish mythology who was enchanted by a dark druid to take the form of a deer. she was loved by young Fionn Mac Cumhaill, the leader of the wondering army called Fianna, who succeeded to broke the spell for a while, though one day the dark druid came to their home and he put the spell on her again, and took her away forever.

Mannin

Mannin should mean ‘ one from the Isle of Man’. it’s the name of the charachter on the upper-left corner. Irecently thought Skerry would have been a cute name too, but Mannin’s his name, by now, I couldn’t call him any other way, I like it .

Seadna

Selkies are sea creatures from the British and Irish folklore, half humans and half seals, living far in the ocean and coming now and then on earth by leaving their seal coat and assuming human form. According to legends you can keep a selkie prisoner on earth by stealing its coat, but that’s the only way, nothing else can keep them for a long time away from the sea, neither love.

Seadna is an Irish boy name which should mean ‘traveller’, or at least so I read.

Nan

“…lord long have I loved you, as a selkie on the foam, I would gladly go and wed ye and be lady of your home,

but I cannot go into the ocean, I cannot go into the sea,

I  would drown beneath the waves, love, if I went along with thee.”
